Hard Candy

A teenage girl, Hayley, probably shouldn’t be going to a local coffee shop to meet Jeff, a 30-something fashion photographer she met on the internet.
But before she knows it, she’s mixing drinks at Jeff’s place and stripping for an impromptu photo shoot. It’s Jeff’s lucky night.
But Hayley isn’t as innocent as she looks, and the night takes a turn when she begins to impose a hard-hitting investigation on Jeff in an attempt to reveal his possibly scandalous past.
Rotten Tomatoes.com probably put it best.
Consensus: Disturbing, controversial, but entirely engrossing, Hard Candy is well written with strong lead performances, especially that of newcomer Ellen Page. A movie that stays with the viewer long after leaving the theater.
We paired this movie with a carrot cake. Probably not the best cake to pair with this movie. A better one? I’m really not sure. This “fiendish, shalpel-sharp thriller” really takes your mind away from anything else going on. Everyone seemed to love the movie, though it might be a little too much for the sqeemish. There were times that even @coreyschmidt was squirming in his chair!
This movie gets 4.5 cakes.

I think maybe an arsenic cake with glass shavings on top would be the best choice.
Strangely, the DVD was lone of the last at Circuit City this weekend. Purchased for $6.
